The Wonder of Christmas
We’ll open our season in December with a collection of beautiful arrangements of traditional carols and holiday songs. Featured will be works by Dan Forrest and John Rutter, but there will also be many more. Plus, an audience favorite — you’ll get a chance to raise your own voice with the Chorale in our annual Christmas carol sing-along. Come and share the season with family and friends, in the wonderful acoustics of the sanctuary of Kent United Methodist Church, 11010 SE 248th Street, in Kent. We hope to see you there!
Anton Bruckner TE DEUM
For Anton Bruckner (1824-1896), the Te Deum was “the pride of my life.” He once wrote that it was his favorite work — and possibly his greatest: “When God finally calls me and asks, ‘What have you done with the talent I gave you, my lad?’ I will present to him the score of my Te Deum and I hope he will judge me mercifully.” Join us in late March for the Chorale’s performance of this marvelous work, along with selections by other master composers. One performance only! In the sanctuary of Kent United Methodist Church, 11010 SE 248th Street, in Kent.
Join us in June for music that is timeless: from the Big Band swing style of the 40’s to the classics of the 50’s, and more! We’ll be singing music from legendary artists and top hits . . . and whether this is a trip down memory lane, or a great celebration of music of past generations, you’ll be tapping your toes and humming along. We’ll be joined by the Rainier Chorale band, as well as some of our fine soloists and small groups. You’ll want to bring the entire family — it’s a fabulous concert you won’t want to miss! At Carco Theatre, 1717 Maple Valley Highway, in Renton.
